Obama's Changes, back to 1825 New Harmony

At what point after centuries of time does a failed vision become a delusion, a hallucination, or a nightmare?

Obama's reselling the same failed erroneous ideas of warped imaginations continue. It started with NEW Harmony under atheistic Robert Owen (1825). To NEW Freedom under Woodrow Wilson (1913). NEW Deal under Roosevelt (1933). NEW Frontier under John F. Kennedy (1961). GREAT Society under Lyndon B. Johnson (1963). Now, NEW Hope under Obama (2008).
Liberals advance the nice, and bury the bad and the ugly in a deep hole, edited out from all of history. In America the failed socialist ideology goes back to 1825, before Marxism.   Anti private property, anti marriage, and anti religion in America goes back to 1825, or before. The 160 year old 6th hand socialist idea just gets recycled under new packages, with the labels emphasizing NEW, GREAT, CHANGE.  Selling crap under emotional labels!

In America, when did the pompous wish to convert the civilized world start? Robert Owen (1771-1858), a Welsh social reformer was a founder of socialism and the communalism movement in America. Owen's philosophy, which Karl Marx later named utopian socialism, was derived from three fundamental pillars. First, Owen believed that no one was "responsible for his will and his own actions" because "his whole character is formed independently of himself." Owen firmly believed that people were the product of their environment.   Owen's second pillar was his opposition to religion. Owen felt that all religions were "based on the same absurd imagination" which he said made mankind "a weak, imbecile animal; a furious bigot and fanatic; or a miserable hypocrite." His third pillar said that he disliked the factory system (capitalism), and supported the cottage system (farmers & labor)..

In 1825, Owen took his NEW APPARITION of society to experiment in NEW Harmony, Indiana, U.S.A. After a trial of about two years it failed. All his communities in England failed. Today New Harmony (population 880) has homes and incomes that are 65% of the rest of Indiana. Owen’s “NEW” vision has always failed, in Russia, in China, in Cuba, wherever. The socialistic vision to convert (or revert) the civilized world has never materialized anywhere. Mortal’s behaving as God fail in life, always.

Democrat Convention on "Ideals" =????

I have repeated many times that politics is the public debate over the future of our civilization, and how it has become a debate between conservative values and liberal ideologies. I have repeated many times that most Christians do not know the difference between a value and an ideology, and that is why there is a Christian Right, and a Christian Left.

As one watches the Democrat Convention in 2008, you will frequently hear the term “American Ideal” applied this debate over the future of our civilization. IDEAL is the liberal word of choice, not value, as was used by both Caroline and Teddy Kennedy. What world view under lays that choice? Freedom and the embedded values of our constitution seem imperfect.
The successes of 3600 sovereign counties and 50 sovereign States are realities, not images.   I am aware of American Values, with embedded Christian beliefs-trusts-values, of liberty, private property, equal opportunity, work, self determination, religious freedom, and innocent until proven guilty, and trial by law.  I know values!  I see values!  I debate values! So just what is this future IDEAL that betters the imperfect American History?

An IDEAL, synonymous with MODEL, is an IMAGE of excellence to be imitated.   So just what is this perfect MODEL that liberals look to achieve at the expense of past values? What future political actions are really being proposed to make America faultless? The answer must really begin with understanding what an IDEAL really is all about.

An IDEAL, synonymous with MODEL, is an IMAGE of excellence to be imitated. An IDEA exists as a mental image or a fancy in the imagination. It lacks practicality. An idea relates to mental images or impressions, and attempts to conform to faultlessness. IDEALISM is a premise that ultimate reality lies in a realm going beyond experience. The theory that the essential nature of reality lies in consciousness, that only the perceptible is real. REALISM is the faithful copying of nature. Idealism affirms the preeminent value of imagination.

Be assured, any time you hear the word IDEA or IDEAL expressed in the public debate, and hear about whom is not as intelligent as “WE” , just know you are listening to an impractical free-thinker, to a liberal thinker, to a theoretical, to an academic. You are listening to someone living in the world view of their own head.

Obama VP timing is........

Be assured the delay from his first promise of Wednesday, his announcement will be the usual Democrat tactic.  Make it after Friday talk radio (Rush &Hannity) is over, during the weekend talk silence.   Make it such that it will be the talk of the weekend liberal TV media networks.  Give the public a hype-edge over facts and substance can be presented.  Keep Obama the weekend focal point.

Note that CNN will not go to the political conventions.  This next week Larry King will interview Republicans to counter Denver coverage. The next week he will interview Democrats on to counter St Paul coverage. It is subtle, but it is CNN's way to give the Democrats the last word, the last DEFENSE ARGUMENT to the jury.   TV (eye-entertainment) is the liberal media, and they hate talk (ear-reasoning) radio media.

My guess is the announcement will come out just prior to Friday night prime time news, about 5 PM eastern time.

Christian right vs Christian left, and politics

This is a thought provoking Charlie Rose interview the on subject of Christianity and politics.

It is Rick Warren of Saddleback Bible-Teaching Church versus evangelical megachurch Pastor Gregory Boyd, Christian Right versus Christian Left, Christ the redeemer versus Christ the liberator, Christian Faith & Grace versus Christian Works (Christian Socialism & Marxist Activism).  I think Boyd's athiestic historical past is creeping through, a form of Marxism in Christian terms, society (government) responsibility trumping individual responsibility.

As I say, politics is the public debate over the future of our civilization.  This debate over civilization is conservative values (right) versus liberal ideologies (left), where the words CHURCH and RELIGION are painful ideas implying self-discipline. Most Christians cannot distinquish a value from an ideology.  Most do not know if their world view springs from God, from His biblical truths of way and life,  or if their beliefs are a regression from THEIR own intellectually warped world view, from binge eating from the tree of knowledge.

For Gregory Boyd to say that Christian religion has no place in politics is saying values and principles have no place in the public debate. It is saying that politics must be a debate over ideas.  Detrick Bonhoeffer, the German theologen who Hitler put to death, troubled by how the German Christian culture could stand behind Hitler and NAZI's, came to the conclusion that they were non religious Christians.

Spanish, as is T. Bones, taking advantage of US wind tax credits

Most of the investment into wind power has been by a global corporations out of Spain. Thanks to tax credits here, Spanish Iberdrola is one of several foreign-owned energy companies that have entered the United States wind market. Even coal rich Pennsylvania is working with the Spanish wind-energy company Gamesa Corp.

Let us start with a field of view of the nation’s wind resource maps, available for each state, and how they relate into the power grids. Start by looking at California.    http://www.eere.energy.gov/windandhydro/windpoweringamerica/wind_maps.asp

We have 3,000 counties. Most of the counties have marginal and fair wind resource ratings. Over 65% of the people live in 10% of those county, counties with populations greater than 80,000, those non wind zone counties. Over 85% of the people live in half of the States, those non wind zone states. Over 40% live in the coastal areas, those non wind zone areas.

Wind power does little for Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle, Denver, Phoenix, Minneapolis, Chicago, Detroit, New York City, Miami, Houston, etc. The best practical solution for the super mega metro areas is putting nuclear in those high population density areas.

Wind power has always been practical in all those rural, remote from the power grid, those small counties with populations from nothing to 80,000, like in South Dakota, North Dakota, Nebraska, Wyoming, Utah, Kansas, Alaska, or New Mexico. That 20% suburb wind resource is not 20% to all the people, but to 20% of the people. These States are already exporters of electrical energy to the likes of California and New York. Red conservative counties already export electrical energy to the liberal blue counties. Prime wind resource state like South Dakota is already an exporter of electricity, without putting wind turbines along the prime resources of the Black Hills.

Another point of view is knowing that the power created at the turbine source has a significant transmission loss by the time it gets to the distant home use. Think of the transmission line as a water hose. The longer the hose, the less the water pressure coming out. The closer to the source, the more efficient and the lower the cost. Most of California is imported energy. . Red conservative counties already export electrical energy to the liberal blue counties.

Another point of view is the investors point of view. Because wind zones are small and random zones, there is the cost of the transmission lines. It takes a large investment, and many turbines, with a long pay back period, to make it pay. That puts it in the high risk category. T. Bones Pickens is out for himself, and government subsidies.

Then there is the environmental point of view. A 1 GWatt coal or nuclear base load plant needs less than 500 acres. An equivalent 1 GW base load wind power at U.S. average capacity of about 22 percent would require 45,000 acres, plus another 5,000 acres for transmission corridors. Wind turbines the size of the LDS Church Office Building would be required every 240 feet along I-15 and I-80, spanning Utah. Unfortunately at this spacing, the 250-foot-diameter blades of each turbine would intersect each other.

"Farm Bill" mandates massive bureaucratic costs upon free enterprise

Per H.R. 2419 of May 2008, effective  November 2008 it shall be unlawful for any person to import any plant unless the person files upon importation a declaration that contains (A) the scientific name of any plant (including the genus and species of the plant) contained in the importation; (B) a description of— ‘‘(i) the value of the importation; and ‘‘(ii) the quantity, including the unit of measure, of the plant; and ‘‘(C) the name of the country from which the plant was taken.   The terms ‘plant’ and ‘plants’ mean any wild member of the plant kingdom, including roots, seeds, parts, or products thereof, and including trees from either natural or planted forest stands.  This will stick it to the $300 billion cosmetic industry, pet food industry,  tourist industry, and almost everything.  Imagine importing a frying pan with a wood handle, and having to specify (declare) scientific name of wood, value, quantity, and country the tree was cut down in, before bringing it into the country.

In this section of the "Farm Bill" there is some references to Global Climate Change Prevention Act,  Emergency Forest Restoration Program, and Prevention of Illegal Logging Practices.  That tells you where this burden being mandated upon free enterprise is coming from.  DHL sent out a headsup email to its customers this week about new mandated costs and time delays on international import trade. Actually the last farm bill is just a nice label on a bad law, again, to fool the public.  It is called H.R. 2419 Food, Conservation, and Energy Act of 2008.   Bush vetoed the H.R. 2419 of May 2008 but it was overrided.  Specific mandating words in this 628 page law spells it out is on page 371 of section 8204. (see pdf web text).

I am sure DHL who transports cargo into USA from around the world knows what they are talking about. I am sure it is putting them into a clearing house delay, adding to transportation costs.

Congressional Budget Office estimates that enacting the bill would increase direct FEDERAL spending for those programs by projections for those programs, enacting H.R. 2419 would bring total spending for those USDA programs to $286 billion over the 2008-2012 period and $614 billion over the 2008-2017 period.  That doesn't include the added business costs upon  $300-$600 billion private industries mandated by requiring plant import declarations.    Larry R.

Read pages 370-371:

For skeptics, read it yourself:

(2) PLANT DECLARATIONS.—Section 3 of the Lacey Act Amendments of 1981 (16 U.S.C. 3372) is amended by adding at the end the following new subsection:

PLANT DECLARATIONS.—

‘‘(1) IMPORT DECLARATION.—Effective 180 days from the date of enactment of this subsection, and except as provided (3), it shall be unlawful for any person to import any plant unless the person files upon importation a declaration that contains—

‘‘(A) the scientific name of any plant (including the genus and species of the plant) contained in the importation;

‘‘(B) a description of— ‘‘(i) the value of the importation; and ‘‘(ii) the quantity, including the unit of measure, of the plant; and ‘‘(C) the name of the country from which the plant was taken.

‘‘(2) DECLARATION RELATING TO PLANT PRODUCTS.—Until the date on which the Secretary promulgates a regulation under paragraph (6), a declaration relating to a plant product shall—

‘‘(A) in the case in which the species of plant used to produce the plant product that is the subject of the importation varies, and the species used to produce the plant product is unknown, contain the name of each species of plant that may have been used to produce the plant product;

‘‘(B) in the case in which the species of plant used to produce the plant product that is the subject of the importation is commonly taken from more than one country, and the country from which the plant was taken and used to produce the plant product is unknown, contain the name of each country from which the plant may have been taken; and

‘‘(C) in the case in which a paper or paperboard plant product includes recycled plant product, contain the average percent recycled content without regard for the species or country of origin of the recycled plant product, in addition to the information for the non-recycled plant content otherwise required by this subsection.

Irrational liberalism, a mental disease

LIBERAL SCHOLARS VOID OF LOGIC & REASONING WILL NEVER CHANGE ANYTHING, MORELESS THEIR MINDS!

It is the microprocessor arithmetic feature that powers the computer not the memory cells full of stored data, not the video disk full of hoarded information. It is the central processing unit that ratio’s, calculates, accounts, and converts information into knowledge, into doing it. Likewise for the fruitless human brain occupied with limited specialized data. Unprocessed information is only unrefined ineffective data.

The liberal institutions of higher education, the scholars, employ their constricted enlightenments to trump the logic and reasoning of wide-ranging scientific deliberations, those seeking truth.  Scholars with PHD’s behind their names believe themselves to be scientists-plus. Scholar, from the word SCHOOL, implies a learned person, and by definition someone who has had advanced training and instruction in a restricted field, able to PERFORM.

Animals can be trained and instructed to do specific tasks. Animals can be clever and cunning, but never ingenious. By definition, scholars are narrow minded to specific fields, and, by behavior scholars are mainly liberal and limited in scope and talents.

Liberalism is irrational. Opinions and assertions are incongruous with observations, logic, and reasoning powers. It is logic that directs the intellectual powers in the investigation of truth, and communicating it to others.   Logic, from logos or reason, is that discipline that deals with the principles and criteria of sound deduction and revelation. Logic is the art of thinking and reasoning justly. Logic is the discipline of the principles of reasoning, a branch of knowledge dealing with relevance, weight, and consequence. Correct thinking implies correct reasoning.

Liberalism is a mental disease. Deductive reasoning is the power of comprehending, inferring, and thinking in an orderly rational way. Reasoning is the gifted exercise of the intellect, distinct from "THINKING".  Sanity is reasoning, using the sum of intellectual powers. Reason, to ratio, is to calculate, to account, to explain, and to justify. It is to establish the underpinning that sustains a conclusion or explains a fact. It is making some fact intelligible. It is connecting effect to cause and cause to effect. It is seeing the dots, and connecting the dots, that theater of the mind that specialized scholars of letters lack.

Obama, Presidents, and Generals

Starting with the Revolutionary War, three out of four of the nations Presidents first served in the military, most during a war, prior to political ambitions.  Many served as generals. Seven non- military presidents were Democrat, four Republican. Six Presidents in a row, from Taft (1909) through Roosevelt (1945), were Commanders in Chief without military experience. One can say that this anti war interval of American history was when the national security (internal and external) was at its weakest. The last non-military president was Bill Clinton, again when the military forces were reduced and American security grossly weakened.

Before voting for someone, ask when and how they got into politics in the first place. First, give credit and respect to those rare few who are recruited into State and national politics because of some previous great military public service making them respected and well liked, those like Washington, Ulysses Grant, Eisenhower, John Glenn, and now John McCain.

Sound wisdom has insight into observing and deducting raw power hungry people, be it in a classroom, a corporation, or a nation.  The bible is that book, that operators manual about the human machine. For 4,000 years it warns all about this mortal propensity of  "gaining the world and losing the soul!", about blind ambition.

In casting a vote have the insight to see beyond personality into character, into substance.  Beware, because politics is more about personal ambition, about POWER, about human pride and giant egos, about seducing votes. Look at low-middle class Obama, all his movements and positioning over a short span of time, to create an impressive resume, funded by somebody, never in one position to really serve others.  His very conduct defines obsessive worldly ambition, on the move, always passing GO, and COLLECTING!   No time to waste any ambitions or any  youth in any military service!

Imagine the election of 500,000 elected officials to city, county, State, and federal positions.  Two citizens in a thousand pursue and succeed in that career field, in hopes of getting to Washington.  Most that succeed are the biggest frauds, deceivers and cut throats of society. They are masters of image management. They are masters of fake personalities and deception.  Then, imagine what it takes to succeed success in a mere dozen years, and how easy they fool the mediocre citizen with such little effort.

Repackaged failed social ideologies

At what point does a failed vision become a delusion, a hallucination, or a nightmare?

Reselling the same failed erroneous beliefs to warped imaginations continue. At least LBJ did show some creative imagination in word selection.

Liberals advance the nice, and bury the bad and the ugly in a deep hole, edited out from all of history. In America the failed socialist ideology goes back to 1825, before Marxism.   Anti private property, anti marriage, and anti religion in America goes back to 1825, or before. The 160 year old 6th hand socialist idea just gets recycled under new packages, with the label emphasizing NEW contents!

energy crisis and oil facts

Talking about simple  ignorance, most Americans are ignorant and have not figured it out when it comes to energy and oil, and global economic politics.   Oil is a strategic commodity, not a free market.  Being strategic, it is an economic and political power eqivalent to any military force.   It is not cornflakes or Starbucks with alternatives.  The last great strategic commodity goes back to salt, back only a century.  Salts ability to preserve food was the foundation of civilization. Salt created and destroyed nations. Salt carried heavy taxes.   During the war of 1812 salt was used to pay solders.  Ghandi had his great India Salt March to the sea in 1930 against the English salt tax and for the freedom of citizens to make their own salt.

Just as new technologies in canning and electricity-refrigeration brought an end to the strategic power of salt, the same will be required to break free from the powers of Muslim Arab oil.  Oil has to do with gas, petrol,  with the TRANSPORTATION industry worldwide, essential to western economies.  Less than 2% goes to making electricity.  Wind, solar, nuclear technologies advanced by politicians will do nothing for the transportation industry, for gas prices.  Like it or not, the short term breaking the OPEC Arab Muslims bleeding and transfer of massive USA wealth (that they use to buy USA properties and businesses) will take alcohol from many sources, ethanol (corn, sugar, switch-grass, etc) and Methane (coal, natural gas, waste), along with DRILL DRILL DRILL!

Keep in mind that there is no tariff on oil, but there is an equivalent $25 per barrel tariff on imported ethanol, thanks to the ag lobby.  Drop that tariff and start importing sugar ethanol.  Drop that tariff we have on sugar that forces the food industry to use corn syrup.  Stop trying to make corn a strategic commodity.

Oil is political and the ARAB's, not the USA, are in control.  Who controls the supply?  In 1973 OPEC put out 30 MBPD.  In 2007, 30 MBPD, the same.   In 1973 the non-OPEC nations put out 25 MBPD, and in 2007, 45 MBPD.   OPEC has held their output constant for 35 years.  Why, when the Non OPEC has almost doubled theirs? Actually, as the world puts out more, the ARABS back down their production.  The current big drop of about 1 MBPD is being done by OPEC's Venezuela'n marxist Hugo Chevez who hates the USA.   (Venezuela contains some of the largest oil and natural gas reserves in the world. It consistently ranks among the top ten crude oil producers in the world).

In 2008, oil is in an all out world war.  Muslims believe oil is Allahs gift to them and they deserve reparations for past cheap oil.  Chevez is anti-capitalist. With the $3 Billion daily flow from the world into OPEC, into Arabs, and to Muslims and Marxists beyond, the western economies are funding both sides of the Iraq-Afganistan war.  Getting out of Iraq does nothing about our continual funding the other side through oil.   Muslims have the USA wrapped up in their spider web, and not by accident. It has nothing to do with India and China prosperity.  We can flounder, or fight back!

Understand that OPEC was formed in 1960 with five founding members Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Venezuela. Not many friends there!  By the end of 1971 six other nations had joined the group: Qatar, Indonesia, Libya, United Arab Emirates, Algeria and Nigeria.  Angola joined in 2007.  In  1973 when Syria and Egypt attacked Israel the United States and many countries in the western world showed support for Israel.  As a result of this support several Arab exporting nations imposed an embargo on the countries supporting Israel. Arab nations curtailed production by 5 million barrels per day (MBPD). Hi story repeats itself.  American public learned nothing in 1973.

Although new countries join OPEC, they do not increase output to include the new countries, so many member nations like Iran decrease their share of output.  As we produce more, they will produce less as in Iran and Venezuela.   They, not American consumers, control the price.  Supply, not demand, controls the price, and for all purposes, the ARABS at the moment have a monopoly.   Economics 101.  The American task is to turn technology loose, destroying oil as a strategic commodity, making it as commonplace as salt.  And congress really needs to review tariffs and subsidities that hinder our freedom from oil.

Social governments get the oil money

“Greedy corporations making massive profits?” That is deceptive reporting. Define OIL for what it truly is! OIL is you and I, not an IT or a THEY. Financial Institutions that you and I, and pension funds, invest savings in own oil. Nobody was complaining back in the 1990's when they (we, our investment portfolio's) were losing. Check out the industry financial numbers on Yahoo Finance.

First, investors (retirement and savings funds) have over $3 Trillion of life savings at risk in this industry employing a half million people who also pay massive taxes.   Industry gross profit is around $240 Billion. Of that, government gets $100 Billion. About $91 billion is invested back into the business for expansion. About $7 billion goes to banks for the long-term debt they carry. Finally, out of it all, $6 billion goes to stockholders, or .2% on the risk capital.   Corporate Tax in the US is 5th highest in the 30-nation organization, at 35%. That excludes around 6-8% to State corporate tax. That excludes the $70 billion the industry pays out for government Social Security and Medicare taxes on those 500,000 employees, also accumulated into the end price tag of gas.

It is not OIL that gets the most money. It is government. First, the government kept all mineral rights in all those homestead land grants.  Know that oil exploration only happens upon any lands or waters unless authorized by a government. Government gets paid for that access, and every step in the supply chain including point of consumption.

Gas prices around the world run from 14 cents a gallon in non-taxation countries like Venezuela, upward to $6.50 a gallon in the more socialist countries like the Netherlands and Norway. The recurring cost to make a gallon of gas is less than 50 cents if refined at the point of the pumping. It is not the oil companies that suck out that extra $6.

They say we travel 2 trillion miles in USA and that equates to about 100 billions of gallons of gas. That says that this $170 billion in taxes paid by the corporations to federal and state adds about $1.70 to the costs of gas. This excludes the taxes at all the other supply chains feeding into this oil industry, and taxes at the local distributive and retail ends which adds likely another good 50 cents. As I said, for $3 gas a gallon, you figure out who is getting the most, the biggest piece of the total pie. The approximate $2.20 to the government, or the 1 ½ percent or 5 cent return to we the stockholders.

Know your basic economics. Corporations are tax collectors. Consumers pay all the taxes. The gas explorer’s pays taxes and passes it on.  The driller pays taxes and plows it into the costs passed on.  And, so on and so for the pumpers, the tankers, the refineries, the truckers, the gas stations, the attendants.  Each and every stop of the supply chain pay taxes and passes it onward accumulated into the end retail cost.  In the end, the consumer pays the tax. For a $4 gallon of gas, at least half, or $2 is trickled into government over the supply chain process.  Compared to that, little flows into our financial institutions for we the owners benefits. We pay at the pump now as consumers, or pay at time of retirement with less capital gains and with a lesser purchasing power.  Liberals are raiding our retirement purchasing powers, but we won't know that until it is too late.

Power of Political Portraits & Obama the Great

The power of the political portrait goes back to 326 BC, to Alexander the Great of Greece. Since then, to let the multicultural masses know who has the central power, the political portrait has been stamped on coins by kings, rulers, presidents, and dictators. The powers of the enhanced portrait to persuade are the vital tools of politicians and Hollywood, those big ego’s in the industry of image management.

During this election year, we will be bombarded with daily portraits of politicians to persuade us that they have courage, passions, strengths, character, soul, and to put trust and hope in them. We need to ready ourselves for the deceptions. Then comes the conventions and the masses will be flooded with portraits, icons, and images. Then comes the punch line.

Obama the Great has decided to give his acceptance speech, the closing of the 2008 Democrat convention, in a football stadium. The powerful image will be that used by Hitler in his march to power, to stand upright, outspoken, and strong in front of 70,000 encouraging, cheering and swooning multicultural faces. The media camera will focus on the faces, back and forth, between Obama’s and certain individuals of the masses, the Black, the Asian, the Hispanic, the Woman, the young, the old, the handicapped, the Hollywood celebrity icons in the stadium. To the multicultural observer, all will be emotionally persuaded to unite with the crowd, to scramble to the bandwagon. And, it will work, for it worked for Alexander the Great back in 326BC, when he ruled over a multicultural empire, and invented this political unifying tactic.

Talk cooks no rice.  Words come and go.  But powerful images become embedded forever!  In this election go-around Madison Avenue will prevail over Wall Street, personality over substance. History will repeat itself.   The blind masses will get what they deserve.
